BUSHI Karate - Aikijujitsu - Self Defense Newsletter:

December 30, 2011

My Fellow BUSHI Students,
Happy New Year! While the temperature is getting a little colder outside, we are pleased to see the positive spirit inside the Dojo is heating up. Since our last newsletter, there have been several rank promotions, new students who have joined the BUSHI family and an increase in people’s training to get a jump start on the New Year, not to mention a fun holiday party.

Thank you to all who attended the BUSHI holiday party, it was a huge success and great to see new and old students, as well as their family, and we look forward to hosting future events like this to share more fun times together. As most of you have probably noticed, the BUSHI family continues to grow quite a bit lately. We would like to welcome to our family the following new students: Ciana & Remy Daron, Dylan Fluck, Rachel & Ryan Byrnes, Emma Hinnershitz, Brian Pickersgill & Jonathan Turner; & congratulate the following promoted students: Andrew Shapowal (3rd kyu), Joe Arnado (5th kyu), Wyatt Fluck (8th kyu), Aiden Westdyke (8th kyu) & Corbin Williams (8th kyu).  If you have not done so yet, please introduce yourself and / or congratulate these students.
  • Additionally, a special note to congratulate Older Sensei (Adam & Shannon) on their new baby boy Tyler James Older born on Friday, Dec. 30th at 8:15am, who came out kicking!
As we are now moving into the New Year and the sun is rising on an exciting year to come, we are launching a NEW WEBSITE: www.BUSHIkarate.net (GOING LIVE on 1/3/12) and a NEW BUSHI PHONE #: 484-601-BUSHI (2874). These will serve as improved ways to communicate with our existing, new and prospective students important information such as who we are, class schedules, inclement weather information, etc... While we now have a main BUSHI phone #, please continue to reach out to us individually as you wish by using the personal information we have continue to provide.
  • Specifically, regarding possible inclement weather related closings, please note that the new BUSHI phone # will have closing information at 3pm the day of the possible closing.
As we introduced in the last newsletter, we are a family-oriented dojo and have always relied on the words of our students to spread the name of BUSHI. In this spirit we would like to reward those students that give back to the dojo by recommending us to their friends. Starting now in January 2012, all students who bring in a new guest (someone who has not trained at BUSHI ever or at least for 3 years) that signs up for three months will receive a $20 credit toward their next month’s dues. We hope that this show of our appreciation will encourage all students to share their positive BUSHI experiences.

As noted in our last newsletter we are now starting in January our effort to remain current with our student database. As we have put together a small information sheet for each student to fill out, please see the attached form for all current students, as well as displayed at the dojo for easy pick-up. We ask that each student fill out the form and return it to one of the Sensei (Ulmer, Older or Stankus) by the end of January. Please note that on the back side of the information sheet is a liability waiver. We ask that each student read and sign the waiver before returning the form.

As a reminder, students can pay by cash or check (made out to “The BUSHI Group, Inc.”) in person at the dojo, or by mailing a check to P.O. Box 824 Montgomeryville, PA 18936. For convenience, students can set-up an automatic check payment from their bank to the P.O. Box the 1st of each month.
